The Kate Dunphy Band is a piano driven pop/rock jam band known for their catchy songs, tasteful jamming, tight arrangements and amazing musicianship. Originally from Portland Maine, Kate is one of the only jam-oriented female band leaders in the country. She blends rock, jazz, funk, folk, and latin music.

I don’t know why this band hasn’t received more attention. They are definitely an up-and-coming group, someone to keep an eye on.
This reminds me a bit of: Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, Colbie Caillat, KT Tunstall, & Lisa Loeb, but a bit edgier.
