Originally from Mission Viejo, deep in Orange County California, Kina Grannis became a YouTube and Digg sensation with her catchy lyrics and melodies, her web savvy, and her sweet and approachable nature. The winner of 2008′s Doritos Crash the Superbowl Contest, she had the video for her song “Message from Your Heart” played to the Superbowl audience of millions. As a result of winning this extremely competitive race, she was signed with Interscope, but left the deal to pursue her career further as an independent artist.

Kina plays out in the LA area fairly frequently, sometimes with good friend and fellow YouTube personality David Choi, and has toured across the country. She is also a runner, most recently hooking up with the organization Team in Training to run a marathon in honor of her Mom. On a personal note, I gotta say…one of my favorite artists. :D
