Buy Jazz Guitar – Learn to Improvise (Includes Cd) a Melodic Approach to Jazz (Paperback) at Amazon

Well, I’ve certainly bought my share of books on learning jazz, but this book is so far my favorite. Most of the books on jazz guitar just don’t explain things in a very clear manner, and I usually wind up not learning anything. I really like the way this book is laid out. Everything is explained simply, and the author gives some useful theory that is usually left out of these types of book. I believe the book is supposed to be a beginner’s book of sorts, but it does go into a lot stuff that I think is leaning toward an intermediate player. Overall, I think I finally learned something more than just a cool lick from one of these books.
